Cavs beat Wizards 87-84

It was a battle between two of the NBA’s worst teams and was an important chance for the both of them to grab an all important victory. The Cavs were a bit better and did enough to grab the 87-84 victory over their fellow out of form team.

Kyrie Irving was the star of the show as he scored 26 points and had several rebounds and assists too. Tristian Thompson had a solid game as he scored 15 points and had 12 rebounds. Thompson had been on the end of criticism this season and knows he must improve in order to silence these doubts.

The Washington Wizards spread their points across the team as a few of their key players finished with points in the mid-teens. The Wizards have struggled all over the court for the majority of the season and it looks likely they will end up with one of the worst records in the NBA at the end of the season.

The Cavaliers have shown a lot of promise at times, however they have had little consistency. This game was the 2nd straight for the Cavs and will provide them with some much needed confidence and winning momentum to build on. With the Cavs suffering from injury problems and now near a full strength line-up they will be hoping after winning their 7th game of the season they can continue this form in the long term.

Although their records and game against each other suggest these two teams are closely matched it is unlikely that will stay the same for long as the Cavs appear to have a much brighter future than the Wizards at this moment in time and could possibly pull away from the group of the NBA’s worst teams this season.
